ABOUT ME

You can contact me via e-mail

I am into digital photography since 2001. Before that I shot pictures with a Canon TX later followed by an EOS 650. My first digital camera was a Canon Powershot G1 that was exchanged for a Canon D300/Rebel with a 17-40mm L, a 55-200mm Sigma and a 100mm Canon macro lens. A little later i got myself the 100-400 mm of Canon. So, the equipment shouldn't be a bottleneck anymore;-).

Towards the end of 2005 I exchanged my Rebel for a 1DMKIIn. WOW.... what a great camera. The responsiveness and image quality is so much better! In 2006 we went to Costa Rica and there I experienced that my 17-40 in combination with a 100-400 leaves a gap in the middle that I could have used a lot. So now I have added a 24-105 to my collection.
Coming from a technical background I spent quite some time understanding the technical side of things. That gave me technical inside in taking pictures and post-processing them. After that I switched to the basic question 'how do I take better pictures?'
I keep reading books and trying to put things into practice.

My favorite topics are nature (including macro), cities, events and people.

I love to travel and am in the lucky circumstances that my work requires me to travel abroad and every now and than we undertake vacations to other parts of the world. In this map you can see where I have been. Recently two extra spots were added (Vietnam and Russia).
