Voor de dames weer de nodige uurtjes voorbereiding en een leuke gelegenheid om weer wat foto's van de dames en Floris te maken. Behalve de gebruikelijke gala foto's heb ik ook wat Hollywood jaren '30 en '40 opnames gemaakt.

2013-02 HGWZ in the snow : This morning there were a few cm of fresh snow and some nice sun shine. At home everybody was sleeping, so a nice opportunity to go out for couple of hours of photography. I went to 'Het Groene Woud Zuid' an area between Best and Boxtel.

Vietnam from North to South : In the summer of 2008 we took a trip to Vietnam. Starting in Hanoi we travelled to the North, Halong Bay, central Vietnam, Saigon and finally visited the Mekong delta. On the way to Vietnam and back we visited the city of Guangzhou in China.

2012-06-01 Yvette's Heerbeeck Gala : After finishing the last exam of her VWO education yesterday, Yvette was most of today busy preparing for the Gala evening of the Heerbeeck college. At this gala everyone tries to arrive in an original way; supermarket carts, DB9, doube deck busses, military vehicles, solex etc.... I took some shots of Yvette in my home studio and some other ones outside at Valerie's home and on the red carpet entrance in front of the Gala location.

2012-05 Workshop Umbria with David Noton : From 11-5 till 14-5 I enjoyed a fantastic workshop on Landscape photography by David Noton and John Gooding in Umbria - Italy. Before going there I stayed a few days at Tenuta Scarpa Colombi in the North of Italy. After the workshop I stayed a little longer to recover from the early mornings of the workshop and enjoy some more of the surroundings of Il Collaccio.

2012-03 Het prielebosje : Last Sunday we visited a very small forest called 'Het Prielebosje'. It was the first springish day we had this year. The number of people taking a walk was incredible. Everybody wanted to enjoy the first spring weather and some sun. In fact it was so busy that a lady got hit by passing cyclists and fell on the ground.

2012-02 Hortus Botanicus Leiden : This weekend we visited the Hortus Botanics (botanical garden) of Leiden. These are connected to the Leiden University and the observatory. They were having an exposition on carnivorous plants. Which gave me a good opportunity to do some macro shooting with my Sigma macro flash. If anybody can help me with the names? I know I should've written them down, unfortunately there wasn't enough time as we were nearing closing time.

2012-02 Scratch Muziekdagen Leiden : Op 18-2 was de Musical uitvoering van de Scratch muziekdagen in Leiden. Dit evenement bestaat eruit dat honderden zangers en zangeressen in een enorm koor voor deze gelegenheid samen met een orkest allerlei nummers uit musicals instuderen en uitvoeren; en dat alles in 1 dag met 's avonds de uitvoering! On 18-2 the performance of the Scratch musicdays took place in Leiden. This event consists of hundreds of singers forming a huge coir for this event together with an orchestra studying musical songs and performing them; all this in 1 day with the performance taking place in the evening! I asked her to have a look for images she liked on the internet. Inspired by those images we created our own poses and lighting. 2011-11 Glow festival Eindhoven : This year's glow festival in Eindhoven was very nice again. Interesting light art and lots and lots of visitors (90.000 in the first weekend). The festival has grown a lot over the years.

2011-11 Hoge Veluwe : Today we were at the Hoge Veluwe national park. I took some shots outside the park before it opened. Temperatures were very high for this time of year - 15 Celcius - where it should have been below 10 Celcius. Most important the light was great.These images are best looked at as a slideshow.

2011-10-16 De Maay : Today is probably the last day of this year with nice weather so I decided to go out and do some picture taking. Today it's birding again and trying to improve the quality of my shots. I went to De Maay near Bergeijk where some old fishing farm is turned into a nature reserve. Lot's food still in the ponds so there are also a lot of birds.

2011-06 The Best of Scotland : A selection of my images of Scotland - In the beginning of June I had a great holiday with John Simpson from Wild Caledonia (a not for profit organization in Scotland) and two other companions. We traveled from mainland Scotland to Mull, visited the Treshnish isles, went on to Islay and from there back to the mainland. We saw some great animals (mainly birds) and landscapes. If you ever visit Scotland to enjoy nature I can highly recommend Wild Caledonia http://www.wildcaledonia.co.uk/).

2011-05-01 Keukenhof & Amsterdam : On May 1 I showed a foreign colleague some of the sites of Holland like the flower bulb fields, De Keukenhof and some of Amsterdam. The flower bulb fields were for the large part finished blooming but we succeeded in finding a very nice field which contained beautiful and nice smelling hyacinths and also a nursery for new tulip varieties.

2011-03-19 Biesbosch : Today I went to the Biesbosch, a swamp area in The Netherlands. I went there with Gerard, unfortunately Charles couldn't join us. The sunrise was weird; it started with a bright sky and a few minutes after the sunrise there was a dense fog which disappeared again after a while. From there on the weather was like a nice spring day. I have been practicing with my 500mm again and it looks like I am slowly getting better at it.

2011-01-22 The Isle of Tiengemeten : Today we visit the island of Tiengemeten. The isle is pretty small. In the past a few farmers lived here but since 2007 Natuurmonumenten has taken over and currently it is a wildlife reserve (mainly birds). After purposefully breaking a dam the island now has a large swamp area where many birds can be seen. Although the weather was cloudy we had some brief moments of sun. I tried to take advantage of that. This visit allowed me to experiment further with my new 500/f4 lens.

Glow Light Festival Eindhoven : This year (2009) we have another version of the GLOW light festival in Eindhoven. I was able to squeeze in a short walk around the exhibits. This edition of GLOW is more dynamic with performing groups like 'Ulik et Le SNOB' and 'Un Poco Loco'. I enjoyed the shows and objects and took some shots. Unfortunately there is too much to see for the time I had available, so I only got to see a part of all the objects.

Zeeland again..... : Today I visited the province of Zeeland again. First we made a stop at the Brouwersdam and later we visited the harbour of Burghsluis and the beach at Westenschouwen for the sunset

A business trip to St-Petersburg : In oktober I went to St-Petersburg in Russia for business. Fortunately we had some time to visit the trainmuseum and the cruiser Aurora which played a role when the Russian revolution started.

Sanicole aviation meeting : Sanicole Aviation meeting in Belgium at 20-9-2009. A great show but unfortunately the weather was hazy and all public was facing south straight into the sun. So there was a heavy backlight.

Guangzhou, Vietnam North : Het begin van onze reis, we vliegen via Helsinki naar Guangzhou, waar we een dagje shoppen. Daarna dezelfde dag door naar Hanoi (Army Hotel) waar we de stad bekijken en beleven. Vervolgens maken we diverse tours in het Noorden van Vietnam: Babe Lake, Ban Gioc waterval, Cao Bang, Ha Long Bay, Cuc Phuong en Dong Hoi. Daarna zakken we af naar het centrum van Vietnam.
